Per [[MOS:RADICAL]], {{tag|math}} markup is generally preferred to render expressions using the [[radical symbol]] √, but it does not work with the Media Viewer extension, which is used to view images full-screen on mobile devices. So this template should only be used in image captions until {{phab|T263572}} is fixed.

For example: <math>\sqrt[4]{1 + 2x}</math> can be produced with <nowiki><math>\sqrt[4]{1 + 2x}</math></nowiki>.
